Simonscales Mill Holiday Cottage
The Cottage has a tastefully furnished studio-style lounge/dining room/kitchen.
The lounge has a two-piece suite and high backed chair, colour T.V.free view,cd player and VCR. The kitchen has oak units, electric oven, low level four-ringed hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, mixer and toaster. All crockery, cutlery and utensils are supplied.
The conservatory offers an automatic washer and tumble dryer; there is also outdoor drying facilities.
The master bedroom has beds, joined to form a Queen-sized double. The en suite bathroom has a full bathroom suite, and wheel-in shower, with ample room for a wheel-chair. A wheel-in shower chair is available.
The second bedroom has a double bed and en suite shower-room with toilet, basin and shower. Clean bedding, towels and tea-towels are provided and the beds are ready made up for your arrival. A cot and high chair are available on request.
All rooms have free background central heating, all other electricity is paid on a meter reading basis. There is parking for two cars adjacent to the cottage, with ample wheel-chair access.
Heron's View Holiday Home
Our Mobile Holiday Home is situated on the river bank some 75 yards from our house. It has it’s own veranda area with garden furniture and B.B.Q. The lounge is beautifully furnished, has ‘free view’ T.V. with D.V.D and the windows have lovely views of the river Cocker.
There is double glazing throughout and gas hot air heating in all rooms. The kitchen has a good range of units, gas cooker with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, mixer, toaster and electric kettle. All crockery, cutlery and utensils are supplied. There are three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one bunk room which are tastefully furnished. All clean bedding and towels are supplied and the beds are ready made up for your arrival. The bathroom has over bath shower, hand basin and loo. There is also a separate loo with wash-hand basin.
Private parking is available adjacent to the ‘home’. The Mobile Home is non-smoking. The electric is paid through £1 coin meter and the gas on a meter reading. There is an iron and ironing board.
Kingfisher's Perch Holiday Home
Luxury mobile home which has a direct view of the river Cocker, with all it's wonderful wildlife. There is a lovely lounge/dining room, double and twin bedrooms, bathroom with over bath shower, wash basin and w.c. There is a second w.c. with basin. Kitchen has a large gas cooker, fridge/freezer and is equipped to a very high standard with all matching crockery, pans etc.
There is private game fishing 30 yards from the front door. We pride ourselves on giving value for money, all bedding and towels are supplied, beds are ready made up for your arrival.
We are a small business based on our 5 acre small holding which is home to our 4 donkeys, one old pony, two dogs and our peacock with his three peahens. This is a very quiet location but only a mile and a half from the bustling town of Cockermouth which is on the western side of the Lake District. There is hot air heating and double glazing throughout and the gas is paid on a meter reading and electric on £1 coin meter.
Additional facilities
We welcome pets, but we do ask that you do not allow them to worry the resident dogs, peacocks, donkeys and pony.
We have a non-smoking policy, however, arrangements can be made for smoking in the conservatory.
There is a play area for the under-5's, and an adventure climbing frame with swings and slide for the over-5's. These facilities are available subject to parent supervision.
Wheelchair and facilities for the disabled
Our beautiful holiday cottage and holiday lodge have wheelchair access and our aim is to offer Holiday accomodation that is suitable for many disabillities. We are within a 10 minute drive of Lakeland Dialysis which offers a personal dialysis seervice. Please get in touch and I will be happy to run through our facilities for the disabled.
